For our office in Barcelona, we are looking for a Operations Manager sea + air freight (m/f/d) as soon as possible. Our office in Spain is made up of a young, dynamic and motivated team, that currently needs to expand accommodating the current business development prospects. Your new tasks:

  • Professional management of a team of 7-8 employees
  • Supporting your team and giving them advice
  • Create and ensure the follow up of clients’ SOP to enhance productivity at the daily tasks within the department
  • Implement internal procedures coming from our Regional or Headquarter offices duly in time.
  • Complete processing of freight orders and overseeing your teams orders
  • Rate purchasing and negotiation with service providers
  • Preparation of documents (incl. processing of letters of credit)
  • Tracking & tracing
  • Correspondence in Spanish & English
  • Carrying out the settlement process

Your profile:

  • Completed training as a forwarding and logistics services clerk
  • Relevant professional experience in freight handling (air & sea / import & export) from A to Z (LCL/FCL)
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in the above-mentioned field of activity
  • Experience in managing employees needed
  • Good knowledge of English & Spanish (spoken & written)
  • Detailed knowledge of logistical transport chains and Incoterms
  • Independent and goal-orientated way of working
  • Openness and ability to grow a team
  • Be involve in recruitment processes to feed the team with talent when necessary.
  • Support to Management in strategical decisions when required.
