New Eastern Europe Managing Director at a. hartrodt

Based in Prague, Sebastian Endt wants to develop rail transport and optimize customer support.

Sebastian Endt is responsible for the Eastern Europe region at a. hartrodt as Regional Managing Director since January 1, 2021. This includes 140 employees in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Romania and Russia. The 38-year-old replaces Willem van der Schalk, who left the company at the end of March due to age. Unlike his predecessor, Endt's office is not at the Hamburg headquarters, but in Prague, Czech Republic. Endt wants to expand "into new countries in this region to serve our global customer base even better".

Since 2007 on international assignment for a. hartrodt

In the year 2000, Endt started as a trainee at a. hartrodt in his hometown of Nuremberg before focusing on air freight in Stuttgart. He has been working abroad since 2007. "I've enjoyed every opportunity to understand how businesses are conducted across the globe," he says. Most recently, the Bachelor Professional of Transport Management headed a. hartrodt in Canada for five years, and before that he was responsible for the Indonesian country organization.

Competence team rail and supply chain platform

In Eastern Europe, Endt's first order of business is to set up a regional rail transport competence team to support all the individual markets in the region. "We would like to meet the significantly increased customer demand for a fast and reliable mode of transportation between Europe and China," he explains. In addition, all Eastern European branches will be connected to CargoWise One in the future. This supply chain platform has been rolled out centrally by a. hartrodt since the end of 2020 so that customers can quickly find out about the status of their shipments. Endt wants to train his team by preparing everybody "to maximize the powerful tools."

Endt is also planning a "Talent Development Think Tank". Young talents from the region are to network, learn from experts and develop ideas for the company's future. "I've had good experience with this in Malaysia," he says. a. hartrodt has been active in Eastern Europe since 1994.
