As Regional Sales Manager Southeast Asia at a. hartrodt, André Domnowsky has been coordinating local sales in six countries from Jakarta, Indonesia, since the beginning of this year. In this newly created position, the Flensburg native has managed to ensure that almost 60 sales people in Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam work more closely together: "We share information and all pull in the same direction." Customers benefit from this: "Services that we offer in Malaysia, for example, can be transferred to Indonesia." André Domnowsky reports to the Regional Managing Director Kristian Sabitzki in Malaysia.

Successful development of Oil & Gas customers since 2015

After completing a commercial apprenticeship, André Domnowsky studied International Management and graduated with a Master's degree from the European University of Flensburg. Since then, he has worked in international freight forwarding in Jakarta for more than eleven years. From 2015, he successfully developed for a. hartrodt Oil & Gas customers in Indonesia. The sales expert wants to contribute to advancing the region by achieving goals together in Southeast Asia and working more closely with Germany.

Building long-term customer relationships in the region

The Regional Sales Manager is initially focusing on German customers "who have offices or distribute goods in the region". In order to build long-term relationships, he travels a lot in Southeast Asia: "We want to be close to our customers and better understand them and their logistical challenges." Key industries are Food & Beverage, Oil & Gas as well as the healthcare sector. "Thanks to in-house customs clearance at our offices in Southeast Asia, we can offer door-to-door deliveries without using local agents," emphasizes André Domnowsky. Attractive products include weekly air freight consolidations and consolidated containers from Germany. He sees strong growth potential in Indonesia and Vietnam, to where production is increasingly moving from China.

André Domnowsky feels at home among "friendly, open people" in his adopted country. Since retiring as the top scorer with 250 goals for the German soccer team in Jakarta, he now plays in an expat tennis league that he founded. Sporty side effect: "Good for business."
